Testing and Prevention

PREVENTION SERVICES

Through its four Prevention Specialists, Heartland CARES, Inc. offers a variety of prevention services to anyone wishing their assistance: 

Prevention Case Management In-depth, one-on-one counseling for those who are interested in learning about high risk behaviors for HIV and STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections) and wanting to explore changing their behaviors, from small steps to big leaps.
Prevention Education Do you know a group of people that want to learn about HIV and STIs or safer sex practices? Any of our four specialists can be contacted to throw a "party" to educate interested persons.
Free Prevention Materials In need of condoms or dental dams? Have a condom preference? In need of safer use bleach kits or crack kits? Just contact any of our Prevention Specialists for free materials.

HIV COUNSELING AND TESTING

In addition to our Prevention Specialists, all staff of Heartland CARES, Inc. can provide free HIV counseling and testing. We provide confidential or anonymous testing. Individuals may be tested at Heartland CARES, Inc. or offsite. We offer "no needle" HIV testing that can be given in any location you desire. Simply call and schedule your clinic appointment (270-444-8183) or ask to speak to a Prevention Specialist to schedule testing in the location of your choice.
